It’s been a busy first week of 2012!
Late Tuesday, the State Education Department announced it had cut off funding for 10 districts receiving School Improvement Grants because they have not reached adequate agreements on new teacher and principal evaluations.

Here’s an interesting angle on school funding. For next-generation educating, we need next-generation funding: “Simply put: Our current education finance system doesn’t actually fund schools and certainly doesn’t fund students. Rather, it pays for district-wide programs and staff positions.”
